Coaching Certification

There is no one single action that can have more of a positive impact on our players than improving the quality and knowledge of our managers and coaches. It is a fact that managers and coaches are the ones who spend the most time interacting with our players and the ones who can make a child's experience fun and memorable.

With this in mind, the Babe Ruth League/Ripken Coaching Certification Program was developed.  Under the program, all coaches must complete coaching education and certification.

The Babe Ruth League/Ripken Softball Coaching Certification Program consists of the following online courses:

  • Coaching Youth Softball: The Ripken Way for Babe Ruth Softball Coaches
  • Coaching Advanced Softball: The Ripken Way for Babe Ruth Softball Coaches

Coaches who achieve a score of 80% or better will receive the Babe Ruth League/Ripken Coaching Certification Program certification for softball and will be able to print a certificate of completion and wallet card from the Web site.

Coaches who successfully pass the Babe Ruth League Coaching Education and Certification Program will receive a certification that is valid for their entire coaching career with Babe Ruth League, Inc.

Background Checks

New Egypt Girls Softball and the Babe Ruth League, Inc. advocate for the careful selection of our league's volunteers, especially those who make a direct impact on our young players, such as our managers and coaches.   We are required to conduct background checks on all managers and coaches, as well as any other persons and volunteers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams.

New Egypt Girls Softball has been performing background checks on all volunteers for many years.  We will once again be using a company called National Center for Safety Initiatives .Our organization code is 20934601
